Educational Workshops

Our workshops are designed for children of all ages, combining play, observation, and interaction with animals. Adapted to the school curriculum and led by expert educators, they spark curiosity, build empathy, and connect children with the natural world – in a way they’ll always remember.

Workshop Location and Content

Educational workshops are held outdoors in the ZOO grounds and in the Osijek ZOO education center. Workshops are tailored to different age groups, and the programs and topics can be aligned with the school curriculum. Teachers choose topics in agreement with the educator.

Schedule and Group Size

We accept groups every working day, throughout the year, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The space is designed for a group of up to 30 people, and if the group is larger, it can be divided into two groups.

Price, Reservation, and Supervision

The price of the basic educational program is €4 per student, and includes a ride on a bus, a ticket to the ZOO, a tour with an educator and a workshop. The duration of the program is about 2 hours. Programs must be booked at least two weeks in advance – via e-mail or phone. During the workshop, a responsible person or representative of the organizer must accompany the student.

Preschool program

For preschoolers from kindergartens, we offer three modules of educational content appropriate for their age, including organized bus transportation from the kindergarten to the ZOO and back, a tour of the zoo with an educator, and an appropriate workshop.

The duration of each module is 2 hours (from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.), and the price per child is €5.

Integrated day

As part of outdoor education for students from 1st to 4th grade of elementary school, we offer a program that follows the teaching curriculum. It includes combined teaching in open and closed spaces, with pre-prepared modules for Croatian language, mathematics, nature and society, art, physical and music education.

The program lasts a maximum of 4 hours, and for Osijek schools at a price of €10 (price is formed depending on the distance of the school from the ZOO), it includes bus transportation of students from school to the ZOO and back, a meal, a workbook for each child, professional assistance from our educators to teachers during teaching, as well as the use of the classroom with all pedagogical and educational content.

For students in 5th and 6th grade, we offer a biology program.

Programs must be booked at least two weeks in advance, by email or phone.

During the program, supervision by a responsible person or representative of the organizer is mandatory.

Become a keeper

Experience the zoo from a completely different perspective and become a keeper for a day!

The program is intended for all animal lovers aged 6 and above.

A maximum of 4 people can participate in the program.

Wear appropriate footwear and clothing, do not wear jewelry.

Program duration from 09:00 to 13:30.

Tour of enclosures accompanied by an educator and keeper.

The appointment must be booked at least two weeks in advance.

Each candidate receives a ZOO t-shirt, lunch, and photos taken during the entire program.

Educational programs provide a unique experience of the animal world in a fun and interactive way!

During school holidays, Osijek ZOO organizes Spring, Summer, and Winter schools, so that children can explore outdoors, learn interesting facts about animal welfare and protection, and get to know the natural behavior of wild animals. Here, through interactive workshops, they also learn about the animal and plant world of wetland habitats.

The educational content conducted here includes a lot of practical work, games, and fun, all for just €10 per child per day.
